Best Robot Floor Cleaner
Robot mops work better than vacuum cleaners that need you to sweep the floor before they can do their job. They are also more effective at cleaning around edges and thresholds.

The iRobot Combo j5+ is our top choice. It scored highly on CR's mopping and vacuuming tests. It can maneuver through obstacles in the home, and clean hardwood floors, as well as low-pile carpets.
iRobot Roomba Combo i5
This robot vacuum and mop is among iRobot's most versatile machines. It has a standard bin for dry waste and an additional tank for wet. The tank is simple to fill and will alert you when it's empty. You can also purchase a factory-compatible cleaning concentrate to use with this machine.
It is capable of navigating floors and staying clear of obstacles. It comes with an mops retractable that stops carpets from becoming wet. The robot is also effective in removing pet fur off various floors. It is loud and doesn't perform as well as other competitors in removing dirt and other debris from bare floors.
The Roomba Combo i5 is an excellent choice for people who want a powerful machine that can handle both vacuuming and mopping without any additional equipment. It is an ideal fit for homes that don't have carpeting and are mostly made of hard flooring. However, it's not a good choice for households with lots of stairs or rooms with a lot of rugs. It is also expensive, but it has the features and performance to justify the price tag.
It uses its own patent-pending Dirt Detect technology to identify areas that have more dirt buildup and scrub them more thoroughly than other 2-in-1s. It has an advanced navigation system that allows it to move in neat rows to completely cover the walls of the room. The mop pads are washable and reused for 30 times.
Create your own custom cleaning schedule using the iRobot Home App or your voice assistant1. Use the iRobot app to add rooms to be avoided mopping sessions in the future. You can also establish a schedule for your Roomba Combo i5.
The iRobot Combo j5+ offers a more affordable option than the i7 and j9 models. It comes with similar mopping tools, but with a patented dirt-detecting system and a powerful vacuuming. The iRobot J5+ also performs very well in our mopping and vacuum stress tests, but it's not as effective as the Ecovacs Deebot Omni in these tests, which makes the Combo j5+ a less versatile choice.

The iRobot App provides a wide variety of features and options to make cleaning as convenient as it can be. You can schedule cleaning sessions and view your cleaning history. Narwal Freo X Ultra
A top-rated, highly-functional Gen 4 robot vacuum and mop that adopts a new approach to design, the Freo X Ultra is a well-built machine. The price of $1,400 is a bit steep however, you can find it for sale often enough to make the purchase palatable. The unit looks great, and the base station takes up very little space in the corner of a room.
The design of this robot addresses a few problems that we have encountered with other robotic mop and vacuum units, such as the brushes getting caught in hair, and the brush being unable to reach floors that are not covered by furniture. The performance of the sweeper on carpets and bare floors is also impressive. The vacuum and mop have a high level debris pickup and the mop will quickly soak up bare floors.
The mops utilize a clever system that cleans along the edges of walls and around furniture. The robot is able to easily get around obstacles like toys, food bowls and backpacks. However, it could get stuck or entangled with smaller and less hefty objects such as shoelaces, USB cables, and pens.
This robot was used to mop and vacuum hardwood floors FLOR carpet tiles, as well as pile rugs in a large open-plan home. It vacuumed and mops the 90m2 space in 170 minutes with FREO Mind enabled. This is a bit more than average for Gen 4 robots.
Certain features differentiate this robot from others in its class. The Freo X Ultra has a slew of software, sensor, and hardware improvements engineered to keep it at the top of its category. It has declared autonomy of 3.5 hours for environments of up to 260m2.
Freo's application lets you alter various functions, such as how often the robot returns to the base station. You can also change the frequency of mopping as well as the power level (silent, intelligent) or the mopping's humidity. robotic vacuums can also detect heavily soiled areas and design a clean route, and give detergent out or raise the carpet's pads.
Other noteworthy features include a quick charging battery, an easy-to-read display on the robot's underside and a practical dock door that is easy to open. The Freo X Ultra is the ideal vacuum and mop for home and apartment owners who want to cut down on their chores while still keeping their homes clean and tidy.
Miele Scout RX3
Miele has a reputation of quality and innovation in the field of robotic vacuuming. The new Miele robot is designed to take it to the next level with high-end features and superior cleaning performance.
The RX3 has a dual-suction system smart mapping system that includes 3D mapping and a camera which transmits live images to your smartphone. The powerful four-stage cleaning system ensures excellent dust removal on hard and carpet flooring, while the intuitive side brushes that swing out and dual suction channels remove dust from corners. The 8.5 cm height allows it to fit under furniture with ease, while front cameras and infrared sensors help it navigate obstacles and thresholds with ease.
In our test of how well it cleaned baking soda near corners and on baseboards, the Scout RX3 was impressive. Its 2,500Pa of suction was a bit weaker than other robots but it moved quickly and was very quiet. It did not mop and its removable cleaning pad was a challenge to attach. It also wasn't able to handle dried-on dirt.
Its app lacks advanced features, such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It works with Alexa but its voice controls don't seem to be very clear or responsive. It's also a bit flaky when it returns to the charging station after the course. Other robots can follow the wall or trace an earlier route however, the RX3 stumbles around until it quits.
Another issue we had was with its clever features, specifically the mapping function as well as digital keep-out zones. While it did a great job of keeping away from our shoes and furniture legs, it got easily caught by socks and cables, and it was not able to manage the tassels on carpets. That's the reason we didn't choose to include it in our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth a look as an alternative to traditional uprights.
